ARCADIA, Okla. – While some local websites frown upon the conspiracy of fun found in fizzy-lifting drinks and corn mazes (or is it a “maize/maze”?), we here at Red Dirt Report always embrace zippy, bubbly soft drinks and corn labyrinths. Don't scorn the corn, y'all!

Well, when you can combine the two, we get doubly excited.

Rusty and the gang noted this as we visited the site of the Pops Arcadia Corn Maze, located next to Pops, right off of historic Route 66 in Arcadia.

After a lunch of burgers and shakes at Pops, RDR’s Sarah Hussain and I ventured to the adjacent cornfield, where the stalks blew in the steady, late summer breeze. You could sense that autumn was not too far away as we wandered amidst the stalks, guzzling Round Barn Root Beer and looking back at the large, Pops soda bottle monument in the distance. (And while checking my photographs later, an anomalous black object can be seen right above the pop bottle statue. A bug? A drone? Something else???).

An unidentified flying object appeared in this photo I took while exploring the Pops Arcadia Corn Maze on Thursday. (Andrew W. Griffin / Red Dirt Report)

Trails had been created in this agri-labyrinth of fun. As the recently-released Jeremy Jones drone video demonstrates, the name “Pops” has been made into the corn maze.

The Pops Arcadia Corn Maze holds its grand opening in just one week, on Saturday, Sept. 26th, beginning at 10 a.m. and closing at 8 p.m.

And for folks living in the Oklahoma City metro, the Pops Arcadia Corn Maze is not so far away, located at 660 W. Highway 66 in Arcadia. For more information go to
