OKLAHOMA CITY - When I think Guatemalan food I don't think Plaza District. When I think Plaza District I think hipsterville and all things chill and laid back. As it turns out Chiltepe's Latin Cuisine & Bar fits in just right.

Located at the west end of the Plaza District, 1800 NW 16th, the exterior of the building gives you the warm feeling that once you walk in the doors you'll be welcomed.

Arriving around 11:30 a.m. on a Wednesday seemed ideal as by the time we left the normal lunch hour crowd was filing in.

We were quickly waited on and everything was brought out in a very timely fashion. First, the chips and variety of dips.

Tim enjoyed the salsa with chunks of avacado and I opted for multiple chips dunked in a mixture of queso and bean dip.

Our entrees arrived just as our chip tray emptied. Tim ordered the sour cream chicken enchiladas and I ordered the steak and shrimp fajitas.

"When you go to Mexican restaurants the chicken is usually always dry, but not here," Tim said happily. "The rice has a really great flavor to it, too."

With a choice of flour or corn tortillas, my fajitas were perfect with all the right spices and tastes. A decent portion of steak and shrimp, loads of onions, bell peppers and fixings hit the spot.

I am a sucker for big portions, as I love leftovers, and these will probably last me my next couple meals. The total for both came to $25.99, a great deal for the portions in my opinion.

Try it out if you haven't and bring me your leftovers!
