FILM REVIEW: UFOs and Nukes: The Secret Link Revealed (Verifiable Pictures) 2017

Back in 2015, I reviewed Robert Salas’s book Unidentified: The UFO Phenomenon, which recounts the author’s experience in 1967 when he was a the Missile Launch Officer in Charge of the nuclear-armed Minuteman missilues at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana.

But the book also addresses how the U.S. and other governments around the world have conspired to keep quiet about the ongoing issue of UFOs making “unexpected appearances at U.S. nuclear installations and causing the missiles, in some cases, to be disabled via unknown methods.

Well, following up on that book and others that have addressed the curious link between “UFOs and nukes” is longtime researcher Robert Hastings, who has “sought out and interviewed former and retired U.S. Air Force personnel regarding their direct or indirect involvement in nuclear weapons-related UFO incidents,” as Hastings notes at his website –

And that includes the aforementioned Robert Salas – and many others as well. These are solid eyewitnesses who worked diligently protecting America’s nuclear installations around the country and places like the America's missile base at Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands and also at RAF Bentwaters in England where a most bizarre UFO encounter took place involving American servicemen in late 1980 and is re-enacted in this film, along with interviews with the servicemen who operated the radar at Bentwaters and

The Marshall Islands, in the Pacific, were the U.S. has conducted nuclear and non-nuclear missile and bomb tests has seen its fair share of UFO sightings over the decades. (Verifiable Pictures)

And while the U.S. government, initially via the U.S. Air Force's Project BLUE BOOK (which ended in December 1969), "investigated" UFO sightings, only to debunk most of the reports, allegedly to reassure an anxious public, or, perhaps for other reasons. And while being mistaken for Venus or swamp gas, the reality is in the declassified documents Hastings and others have gathered over the years which demonstrate the seriousness with which the government took these encounters at nuclear missile silos, nuclear weapons laboratories, test areas and nuclear weapons storage sites.

Newspapers reported on the strange sightings, which first began in and around Los Alamos, New Mexico in the 1940's, where the atomic bomb was created during the Manhattan Project, and have continued into the 21st c century with a 2010 report about a "communications outage" at F.E. Warren AFB near Cheyenne, Wyoming that coincided with reported UFO sightings in the area. During this alarming event, the base lost communication with 50 ICBM nuclear Minuteman III missiles. So, these encounters are still an ongoing mystery to the present day.

And here at Red Dirt Report we have been noting these strange links between UFOs and nuclear weapons for a number of years.

In fact, back in 2014, in an article headlined “Nearly as bright as the sun,” we reported on a 1957 story reports that the U.S. Army reported a “huge, oval object ‘nearly as bright as the sun’ was spotted hovering near bunkers used in the first atomic bomb explosion” which took place on July 16, 1945 at the Trinity site at White Sands in New Mexico.

What attracted these UFOs to Trinity? One can only speculate.

Hastings’short-and-sweet documentary is actually well done and uses believeable graphics and re-enactments that tone down the ususal “cheese” level you can get with “fringe” documentaries of this nature. Hastings makes it clear that this is no joke and that if the unknown individuals piloting these mysterious craft can disable nuclear weapons – or, more scarily – trigger launch countdowns, only to stop them at will – it is something humanity needs to address openly and honestly.

And when Hastings is asked why these UFOs are interfering with humankind's civilization-ending weapons arsenal, he suggested that "they" are warning humanity not to "play with fire."

We agree. And seven years ago, CNN took the topic seriously enough to provide coverage of a Washington press conference addressing the subject of UFOs and their links to nukes. Sobering stuff.

This documentary is, again, short, succinct and takes the subject with utter seriousness. Facts overcome mere speculation and these former and retired military officials are solid eyewitnesses. This is one documentary you definitely want to watch, while also taking notes. There is a lot to learn from Robert Hastings' impeccable research.
