Autumn's last hurrah: Fall foliage in Broken Bow

Help support Red Dirt Report

BROKEN BOW, Okla. – The holiday season is in full swing. While many enjoy the hustle and bustle of the season, some often find themselves needing to rest and recharge in nature.

With a growing number of people choosing to “opt outside”, instead of joining the throngs of holiday shoppers willing to duke it out for the latest TV, Broken Bow is a nature lover’s dream.

Situated in McCurtain County, in the Southeast corner of the state, Broken Bow is home to Beavers Bend State Park. Beavers Bend, and the nearby Broken Bow Lake, offers a myriad of outdoor activities- hiking, kayaking, canoeing and fishing are just a few activities you’ll find in the area.

It’s no surprise Broken Bow was recently named a “Surprise Newcomer” as one of the fastest-growing destination spots for HomeAway travelers.

Unseasonably mild temperatures and the multicolored fall foliage make Broken Bow a can't-miss destination right now.

Get out and explore, friends.
