WAGONER, Okla.- A large fire burned multiple historic buildings in downtown Wagoner over the weekend. It quickly spread along South Main Street near E. Church Street and burned throughout the night. The fire was extinguished in the early morning hours on Monday.

“With Main street, this is the historic part of the town, and especially Owl Drug which is the local town pharmacy, and they know everyone by name and even my family goes there so this is heartbreaking,” said life long Wagoner resident Justin Allen. Owl Pharmacy was the town pharmacy and has been open for more than 100 years.

Allen also told Red Dirt Report Wagoner has a large reserve fire department and it didn’t take long for help to arrive and to evacuate the buildings.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Red Dirt Report will continue to monitor this developing story.
