Ed Shadid is a voice of the people

I have to say that I am VERY disappointed in James Cooper's attacks on Ed Shadid. Ed has been the ONLY elected official in Oklahoma City (and one of the only ones in Oklahoma, for that matter) who has stood up for the citizens of OKC against corporate interests. Cooper has personally promised me repeatedly that he would not attack Ed, but has done so numerous times, mischaracterizing Shadid's strong stands on behalf of ALL citizens of OKC as being anti-progress. Nothing could be further from the truth.

ED IS NOT ANTI-MAPS:
Ed has brought in nationally known experts and put together detailed analysis of cost overruns that will plague the building of a new convention center (and a completely unfunded but necessary accompanying hotel), costing Oklahoma City taxpayers tens of millions of dollars in additional funding, and possibly much more in the long run. He supports accountability for taxpayer money.

ED IS NOT AGAINST MASS TRANSIT:
He questioned spending on a downtown streetcar that could (and should have) included routes to the state capitol and eastside, but instead only seems to benefit the richest corporations in downtown OKC. He supports and has fought for a mass transit system that serves those who need it the most, not just those with influence and money.

ED SUPPORTS FAIR DEVELOPMENT OF THE N.E. 23RD STREET CORRIDOR.
Eastside business leaders have told me repeatedly that proposed incentives to revitalize N.E. 23rd St. benefit only the same few wealthy developers who have benefited from most of the taxpayer funded revitalization projects. Ed wants to see us share the wealth to all citizens, instead of always subsidizing the wealthiest corporate interests. In other words, he wants to see a fair and equitable revitalization of N.E. 23rd St.

Ed Shadid for OKC has ALWAYS stood up for the people of OKC, and has been a dedicated ally against corporate greed and government waste.

DO NOT GET FOOLED BY CORPORATE MONEY BACKED PROPAGANDA. ED SHADID IS OUR VOICE.

VOTE ED SHADID FOR WARD 2 THIS COMING TUESDAY.
