OKLAHOMA CITY – Are you ready for the political equivalent of the “cola wars” of the 1980s? Remember those? Coke vs. Pepsi? Everyone knows soda pop tastes mighty good in the here and now but are bad for you in the long run. The same goes for Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, the two guys who will be selling you a hot bag of lies again tonight at the second presidential debate.

And Barry? He feels "fabulous!"

So, why is Secretary of State Hillary Clinton taking the heat for the half-witted president over the Benghazi debacle? It’s curious. Does he have something on her? Vice versa? It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Old Nixon crony Pat Buchanan is calling it the “Benghazi cover-up.

Did you happen to catch Sen. Tom Coburn’s “Wastebook 2012”? Here’s just a sample of some of the things cranky Coburn notes: “Perhaps nothing demonstrates just how out of touch Washington is more than the $300,000 USDA is spending to tell Americans to eat caviar, one fo the world’s most expensive delicacies, at a time when millions of Americans are struggling just to put the basics on the family dinner table. “Let them eat caviar!” indeed!

And at the Oklahoma Gazette, in the ever-amusing “Chicken Fried News” section, they note a recent poll that showed how Oklahoma City was the fourth most promiscuous city in the country. What’s equally amusing is that Men’s Health magazine noted in 2010 that OKC is also the third most religious city in the country.

Make of that what you will.

Typo! The sentence should be "I do not believe that Romney, NOR his running mate Paul Ryan....." Sorry about that.

I understand where you are coming from with all of this Redscout but I have to say one thing. Without individual liberty, proper tax law and a sound energy policy don't amount to a hill of beans. I agree with you that Romney is a better choice than Obama but I agree with you even more that Romney is not the perfect candidate. In my opinion, he isn't even a great candidate. I do not believe that Romney, not his running mate Paul Ryan are true defenders of liberty. Just look at Ryan's voting record and that will tell you everything. So even though he is a better choice for President than the current scumbag we have in office, he leaves me wanting...something...

Dont under estimate how important this election is. Romney may not be the perfect candidate, but he so much better than obama . This country can be great again with proper tax law, enforcement of property rights , a sound energy policy that takes advantage of coal, natural gas and enhansed oil recovery , reducing epa to its appropriate size and reducing government to those elementary responsibilities that have historically belonged to government. Romney selected a top notch vp so I expect he will select súper people to staff executive positions .
