STILWELL, Okla. -- While I was growing up, my
father taught me to choose my friends wisely. Most of the time we don’t choose
who our enemies are, they usually do that on their own. My father has a good
philosophy in dealing with any enemies; don’t have any dealings with them, and
stay away from them. The events unfolding in the Middle East proves his point
perfectly.
The attacks upon our Embassies are
inexcusable. As far as the attack in Libya is concerned, it seems to have been
a well thought out plan, I also feel that it is no coincidence that it was
carried out on the anniversary of 9/11. It also seems like in the Muslim world
many nations want to jump on the bandwagon and blame the GREAT SATAN (the
United States) for all of their problems. Throughout history I have noticed
that the emotion of hate can be the most unifying force known to man. Another
thing that I have noticed about these nations, their feelings can be hurt so
easy. Someone on the other side of the world can draw a cartoon or make some
poorly produced video that they think insults their precious prophet Mohammed
and, for some reason, these radicals think that they have the
justification to declare war upon anyone who does not prescribe to their view
of religion.
It amazes me how easily the Muslim nations can
be offended by any religion other than their own. I have also noticed that our
American dollars don’t seem to offend them; on all of our currency we have the
words “IN GOD WE TRUST”. The God that we are referring to is definitely not the
one that they worship. If they are half as devoted to their beliefs as they
profess to be, maybe they should refuse to accept the currency from an infidel.
To avoid hurting their feelings maybe we
should simply end all foreign aid to these nations and keep our money at home.
With the budget deficits that we are experiencing, I believe that our people
could use the money themselves. In my opinion it is stupid to borrow money from
the likes of China to give it to some other nation that is offended by our
culture and way of life.
If we would stop forcing our infidel currency
upon these devout Muslims, maybe our president would not have to make another
apology tour of the region and beg forgiveness for all of the trouble we have
caused them. In the future our president would not have to apologize while we
are retrieving the bodies of our dead fellow Americans. Like my father always
said, “You can pick your friends but your enemies will pick you.” It is time
that we Americans open our eyes and see who has picked us as their enemy.
