STILWELL, Okla. -- Many years ago I remember
how popular the Rocky movies were that starred Sylvester Stallone. In one of
the sequel movies the Rocky character had achieved success and had become over
confident. In the story of the movie he was soundly defeated in a boxing match.
After the defeat, he had to relearn the principals that made him a champion in
the first place. In the movie that trait was called the EYE OF THE TIGER. It is
easy for any of us to sit back and get fat and lazy, but when life doesn’t go
well we can become like a hungry tiger that needs to take action to survive.
We true, freedom loving Americans must take
action if we are to preserve the integrity of our nation. The decision of the
Supreme Court should anger and be a catalyst for all Americans to get involved
in the upcoming election. During the debate on the Obamacare bill we were all
told that there would be no tax to force us to purchase health care, and they
were using a penalty provision under the commerce clause to mandate that we all
buy health insurance. According to the Supreme Court, using the penalty under
the commerce clause was UNCONSTITUTIONAL, so in their infinite wisdom they did
some legislating from the bench and called the penalty a tax and gave the
proponents a political victory.
In my understanding of our political system we
have a legislative, executive and a judicial division. In my opinion the
Supreme Court (a judicial division) strayed into the legislative part of our
government. The bill was unconstitutional as it was written and voted upon. The
challenge to the bill, among other things, was the mandate to require all
Americans to purchase insurance under the commerce clause. That part was proven
to be unconstitutional and that should have been the end of it, the proponents
of Obamacare should have been required to re-summit the bill with the necessary
language that said in effect the penalty was in fact a tax. Thanks to a Supreme
Court we had nine people setting a precedent that has the possibility to
fundamentally change the United States.
Our congressmen and women got an easy pass on
this monstrosity; they did not have to go on record of supporting another tax
and creating another entitlement program. We Americans were cheated out of the
representation from our US Representatives and Senators. I ask every American
to remember the lies by our president and his cronies when they told us on
national television that there was no tax in the health care bill. Many of us
knew that they were peeing on our boots and trying to tell us it was
rain. Like the movie character Rocky, maybe this issue will be just
the thing to help us Americans find the Eye of the
Tiger.
